Ian Dickens Productions are proud to present the 25th anniversary national tour of Ray Cooneys hilarious farce RUN FOR YOUR WIFE with an all-star cast including MELVYN HAYES (Bombadier Gloria Beaumont in IT AINT HALF HOT MUM); MARK WINGETT, one of the UKs most recognisable faces from his roles in QUADROPHENIA and BREAKING GLASS right up to his 21 years as PC Carver in THE BILL; PAUL HENRY (best known for his role of Benny in the soap opera CROSSROADS; BARRY HOWARD (Barry Stuart-Hargreaves, the champion ballroom dancer in BBC TV's hugely popular series HI-DE-HI!); MICHELLE MORRIS (THE KNOCK) and long-standing Ian Dickens company favourite DAVID CALLISTER..
John Smith is a London cabbie with his own taxi, a wife in Streatham, a wife in Wimbledon- and a knife-edge schedule! By strict adherence to this schedule, he has been a successful, if tired, bigamist for three years, but it all comes undone when he tries to rescue an elderly lady from the clutches of three muggers and winds up getting clobbered for his trouble. The incident and ensuing treatment at a local hospital throw Johns meticulously crafted schedule off kilter, with increasingly devastating results.
Johns dilemma is not helped much when his upstairs lodger, Stanley Gardner tries to help but only succeeds in making matters worse. Add to this two police detectives, two very different wives and a very camp dress-maker and watch the fireworks fly!
RUN FOR YOUR WIFE is perhaps the worlds most famous modern farce and is directed by IAN DICKENS whose production and company will deliver an evening of riotous entertainment for all.
